Un vent glacial souffle sur un champ de ruines. Des orphelins et des vagabonds errent en quête de réconfort. Anaïs Mitchell a à peine trente ans, elle vient du Vermont et évoque dans son nouvel album l'Amérique moderne sous le coup de la récession. Sa voix jeune, comme déjà rouillée, s'impose dans cette mélopée médiévale, à la fois nue et raffinée. Une des plus mémorables de la nouvelle génération du folk moderne, soutenue par sa grande aînée Ani DiFranco et Justin Vernon de Bon Iver"
